Dave and Dawn Bellis Executive Directors

 

Dave Bellis has been a music educator for 32 years and has been the director of bands at Worland High School for the past 20 years. Dave has been selected as the Wyoming National Federation Music Award
recipient on two occasions as well as being recently selected the Wyoming Music Educator of the year. Dave has also received the Arch Coal Teacher Achievement Award. Dave has been recognized in national music education publications such as “Teaching Music”, “Band World” and “SBO” (School Band & Orchestra). Mr. Bellis was also inducted into the National John Philip Sousa Foundations “Legion of Honor” at the Mid West Music Educators Convention in Chicago. IL. Dave has held several offices on the Wyoming Music Educators board over the past 20 years. His Worland band is well known at the Wyoming State Marching Band Festival for their “different” but entertaining shows.

Dawn Bellis has been an educator for 29 years. She currently teaches Family and Consumer Science classes as well as being a guidance counselor at Worland High School. Dawn has been involved in over 18 band trips with her husband Dave and is one of only three staff members to work with all eight WHSASM Bands. Besides being involved as an executive director, her role with the band is to select and work with the chaperones of the band.
